Our Program
Learners can join Discovery Circle one or two days a week, with sessions available on Mondays and Wednesdays. We plan to expand to a three-day program in the future!
Our program supports each learner's autonomy by providing learner-chosen classes, plenty of flexible outdoor time, and snack and movement breaks as needed.
Discovery Circle Daily Flow
10:00-10:30 AM – Soft Arrival & Movement
Learners ease into the day at their own pace. Options include free play, social time, quiet relaxation, or movement-based regulation.
10:30-11:15 AM – Morning Gathering
Age group check-ins to share announcements and shape the day’s intentions.
Learners can pitch project ideas, propose classes, or discuss community needs.
11:15-12:00 PM – Lunch
Flexible eating—learners can eat whenever they need to or join others for a shared meal during this time.
12:00-2:00 PM – Self-Directed Learning
Time for deep exploration, whether through personal projects, interest-based classes, collaborative work, or independent pursuits.
Learners collaboratively choose interest-based classes lasting 6–8 weeks, which may cover topics like woodworking, astrology, poetry, robotics, and pottery. Classes are optional, and those who opt out can focus on individual learning.
2:00-2:30 PM – Wind Down & Reset
Learners help tidy up and participate in movement, sensory play, or quiet relaxation to transition out of the learning space.
2:30-3:00 PM – Reflection & Wrap-Up
Age groups gather to share experiences, celebrate successes, and discuss challenges from the day.
3:00-3:30 PM – Soft Departure
A relaxed transition home—learners can socialize, play, or unwind while waiting for pick-up.
